A pair of dangle earrings featuring sterling silver hand stamped wildflower charms and ruby in kyanite gemstones. My "Alpine Wildflowers" earrings recall a hike up to higher elevation where the snow was still receding while wildflowers heralded summer. Beautiful ruby in kyanite faceted drums in teal, green, and dark rose hues are paired with icy blue glass seed beads, sterling silver bead caps, and my handmade sterling silver wildflower charms to paint the scene.
I used ¾ inch sterling silver circle blanks and created a texture with stamps of flowers, leaves, and a butterfly. The ruby in kyanite straight-sided drums measure 6x10mm. An 8mm openwork sterling silver beadcap graces the space between the stone drums and the sterling silver charms, creating a little “shade” where some blue ice remains along the edges of a spring. I made the ear hooks in sterling silver with a darkened patina. They are 20 gauge.
2 inches long, each earring weighs 3.4 grams.
