Dramatic purple stone dagger earrings feature petrified fluorite and topaz natural stones. Playing with Cool Stones is one of my favorite things in my jewelry-making. Petrified fluorite is definitely a cool stone with its marbled, somewhat fractured structure and mix of earth colors and rich purple. Petrified fluorite is a type of fossilized wood that has been replaced by the mineral fluorite. The purple patches in these stones are the fluorite, the white and orange are likely agate (quartz, silica) or calcite.
Long thin triangles or daggers, 10 x 50mm, of petrified flourite display brecciated patterns of violet, lavender, orange, and white. The broken-looking patches reminded me of jack frost crystals on a window or the zig zagging purple shadows in a snowy wood. Hand wired in sterling silver, I placed a sparkling 3mm white topaz gem in the wrap and hung the dramatic stones from my handmade sterling silver ear hooks.
3 inches long, each earring weighs 3.7 grams.
Made by hand in my smoke-free, pet-free Colorado home studio. You'll receive the exact pair pictured in the listing photographs.
