These baby Zuni-style bears in silverleaf jasper really caught my fancy. Here in Colorado, our resident black bears are more of a cinnamon color. The first bear I ever saw in the wild was along the Pacific coast in remote British Columbia Canada. There, the black bears are black. In fact they are so black when you spot them at first you think “that’s a burnt stump” Nope. Bear.
I wired these 10x14mm jasper bears with 3mm faceted blue kyanite gemstones and a thin sterling silver disc. One bear hangs from a mother of pearl crescent moon (about 8mm long) the other from a mother of pearl star (about 8mm in diameter). All metal is sterling silver, including my handmade ear wires.
