Here's a pair of Art Deco style earrings in a geometric design. Pink opal gemstones, verdigris color, brass beads, wiring, and ear wires make these Jazz Age inspired earrings a wonderful spring pair.
Jewelry in the Jazz Age, like other forms of art and architecture of the time, leaned toward streamlined designs, symmetrical, geometric elements and overall composition. 1920’s women’s hairstyles, short and minimal, allowed and encouraged designers to go long with earrings. These sleek rectangular earrings are my nod to these Art Deco style influences.
I used rectangular brass drops, ~9x40mm, with a painted distressed finish that has a verdigris appearance. I loved the mint green color with highlights of yellow brass showing through. The rectangles form a frame around a linear drop of 3x4mm faceted pink opal rondelles that I strung on red brass wire. A textured brass bead punctuates the pretty assorted pink stones. Ear wires are also jeweler’s red brass, handmade in 20 gauge wire.
